Sir Elton John receives CH medal

Music icon Sir Elton John received his Companion of Honour medal from Prince Charles on November 10 at Windsor Castle. The 74-year-old used a walking stick as he was recovering from hip surgery. His new honour which is limited to 65 living persons was awarded for his music and AIDS activism.

Sir Elton is due to recommence his farewell tour in January 2022. The tour which is scheduled to end in 2023 was put on hold in 2020 with the pandemic followed by his hip injury this year. While he plans to continue work on new music post touring,the music legend will work to eradicate AIDS. Recently he released a collaborative album ‘The Lockdown Sessions’ which spawned the No: 1 song ‘Cold Heart’ with Dua Lipa.
