Vaccination in progress

All vaccination centres in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Galle will vaccinate those between 20 to 29 years, according to the Presidential Secretariat vaccination dashboard.

While in many areas, it was the Sinopharm vaccine that was being administered to this age group, Hambantota is using the Pfizer vaccine.

Breakdown of vaccines administered as of Thursday;

Over 30s first dose – 11,496,904 (around 11.5 million)

Over 30s second dose – 9,994,589 (around 10 million)

20 to 30 first dose – 1,631,852 (around 1.6 million)
