Quarter-finalists found in Men’s and Women’s Open

Top-seeded Thehan Wijemmane along with Dhilvan Herath, Archana Lokuge, Ramith Herath, Zaidh Zahir, Kiran Vairavanathan and Under-18 boys’ winner Chathurya Nilaweera, qualified to the quarter-finals of the Men’s Open 106th Colombo Tennis Championship when they came out victorious in the third-round encounters played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath,

Colombo yesterday.

Both Anjalika Kurera, who emerged as the Under 18 girls’ champion, and Neyara Weerawansa won their respective matches while Tuvini de Alwis received a walkover to advance to the quarter-finals of the Women’s Open.

The remaining third-round encounters are scheduled to be played in the morning session today.
