TWENTY WEIGHTLIFTERS PICKED FOR IWF MEET

The Sri Lanka Weightlifting Federation (SLWF) have submitted a 20-member contingent for Sports Minister's approval targeting the Commonwealth Championships and the IWF World Championships, from December 7 to 17 in Uzbekistan. Earlier, the Commonwealth Championship was set to be held in Singapore in October but was moved to Uzbekistan due to COVID-19 protocols. Sri Lanka's main focus will be on the Commonwealth Championship as a number of weightlifters are set to represent the country at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. The Sri Lanka Weightlifting Squad, which has been submitted to the Sports Minister:(men): Dilanka Kumar a, Ch a thu ran gala km al, Thilanka Ranasinghe, Indika Dissanayake, Sudesh Peiris, Chinthaka Vidanage, Shanaka Madushanka, Saman Abeywickrama, Ushancharuka and Asitha Deshapriya.
